October 2004: On the weekend of October 9-10, we had an incredible turnout, with over 200 people coming to help paint! Some of the groups and individuals of volunteers included several basketball teams, J-Town Voice! members, JET alumni, Nikkei for Civil Rights and Redress, Bombu Taiko members (who are represented on the mural), staff from Little Tokyo Service Center, residents of Casa Heiwa, small business owners in Little Tokyo (and their families), as well as many people who were just passing by and wanted to participate! |
